After deciding to invest in their offices to make them a more welcoming place to work, the Southampton-based client approached Foursquare Workspace to see how we could help transform one of the areas at the top of their list.

Plan

The client was looking for a bright new canteen area that would be a comfortable place for all employees to enjoy, but one that also encapsulated the company’s brand and personality.

Works

Following an initial meeting to discuss the clients’ design brief, the team at Foursquare set to work on coming up with visuals and concepts to highlight some potential key design features. We worked with them to specify a range of durable materials that would not only look great, but also perform faultlessly in a very busy commercial environment. The design boards were then modified and re-presented to reflect their preferred material finishes.

As part of our full fit out solution, brand new modern units and solid, hard-wearing, white stone worktops were fitted to complement the fresh look provided by the high-gloss wall tiles. Wood-effect vinyl tiles were laid throughout the kitchen, while their concrete-effect counterpart was used in the dining area and surrounding the island.

Contrasting colours derived from the company’s product ranges were provided by the striking glass splashback and a geometric glass feature, which now divides the kitchen and dining areas whilst also letting in an abundance of natural light.

To complete the canteen and infuse a little personality, decorative MDF panels were installed along the grey units. An area on the island was also created to house flowers and plants.

The installation was phased over a four week period, with the area screened off from the rest of the canteen during this time for health and safety purposes.

Result

The installation has created a canteen that is bright, contemporary and ultimately fits in perfectly with the clients’ corporate culture. It’s miles apart from the same room that was suffering from little-to-no character previously, helping to make the workspace as a whole an inspiring and enjoyable place to work.
